    • Frederick Thomas Warr was born on 9th Jun 1898 in Bedminster, Somerset the child of William Warr, a Sergeant in the Royal Engineers and Emma Frances Thompson. He had six siblings, five are: William, Harry, Arthur, Ernest Ronald, and Emma F. Frederick was baptised on 31 January 1906 at St Michael and All Angels, Bedminster.

      31 March 1901: St Johns Lane, Bristol with Father, Mother and Brothers William and Harry.

      2 April 1911: 7 Ash Road, Horfield, Bristol with Father, Mother and Siblings Harry, Ernest and Emma.

      28 October 1912: Frederick joined Ordnance Survey. The Ordnance Survey Wallis collection includes a photograph, taken about 1913, of Frederick with colleagues from the Ordnance Survey Bristol office.

      7 December 1914: Enlisted as a Sapper, South Midlands Field Company, Royal Engineers (Territorials)

      Frederick set sail from Southampton on 25 May 1915 with 2nd/2nd South Midland Field Company, Royal Engineers which was part of the British 61st (2nd South Midland) Division. On 9 June 1915 the Company headquarters moved to the village of Laventie. The Company were assigned to an area between Elgin and Strand trenches near Fauquissart.

      Sapper Frederick Thomas War, 2/2 South Midland Field Company, Royal Engineers was killed by a sniper on 13 June 1916. He is remembered on the Ordnance Survey War Memorails. His Commonwealth War Grave is in the Royal Irish Rifles Graveyard.

      Frederick was killed four days after his 18th birthday. The entry recording his death in the unit war diary describes him as "a good Sapper and a cheery comrade".
