  Walter William Notton was born on 19 February 1906 in Aberdare child William Notton and Matty Lilian Notton (nee Beddoe). Walter married Mary Jenkins in 1937, they had a son Alun Michael Notton born in 1938. The 1939 Register records Walter as a Surveyor, Ordnance Survey living at 59, Ruins Barns Road, Sittingbourne with his wife Mary and son Alun. Walter, his wife Mary and their 4-year-old son Alun Michael were all killed when bombs fell on their home at 235 Vale Drive, Bittern Park, Southampton.
