    • Geoffrey Leo Pitman was born on 19 February 1919 in Dovercourt, Essex the son of Leopald Albert Pitman and Kate Pitman (nee Knott). He was educated at Taunton's School. Geoffrey married Peggy Billett in September 1940.

      The 1939 Register records Geoffrey as an RAF recruit living at 58 Atherley Road, Southampton.

      Geoffery was the Navigator on Blackburn Botha L6262 that left RAF Millom, Cumbria on a training flight. The aircraft crashed Enfield Bridge near Leigh, Kent all onboard were killed.
